In the afternoon of March 6, 2024, the school of mechanical engineering held the inaugural seminar of the talent working group of the School of Mechanical Engineering in the South High Hall of the Mechanical Building. Ni Zhonghua, the Secretary of the Party Committee, Fei Qingguo, the Dean, Chen Zhen, the Vice Dean, and members of the talent working group attended the meeting.
Vice Dean Chen Zhen first conducted a comparative analysis of the current status of talent development in our school and introduced the talent projects currently being applied for, as well as the main goals of the subsequent work of the talent working group.
Dean Fei Qingguo pointed out that in the face of new situations and tasks, the introduction and cultivation of talents are the top priorities of the college's work. We must seize the opportunities of the 14th Five-Year Plan, take disciplinary development as the cornerstone, team building as the key, broaden our horizons, introduce talents to solidify our advantages, fill gaps, and build a high-level faculty team that meets the needs of the college's disciplinary development and has an orderly development structure. This is an important guarantee for further promoting the development of the 'Double First-Class' initiative and the sustainable upward development of the college.
Subsequently, members of the working group discussed their understanding of talent introduction, combined with their own professional fields, and proposed constructive suggestions regarding personnel types, publicity methods, and other aspects.
Finally, Secretary Ni Zhonghua summarized that the introduction and excavation of talents should be considered comprehensively from several aspects: 'What kind of people to attract, where they are, how to attract them, who will implement it, and mechanism guarantee.' This provides ideas for the next step of talent introduction and cultivation work and faculty team construction of the college. The ultimate goal is to achieve high-quality development of the college's 'Double First-Class' disciplines.
