嘉宾介绍
Professor John J. Kasianowicz received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1987, and served as the Program Leader for Nanobiotechnology at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from 2005 - 2022. He is currently a Visiting Research Professor at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, and became a Fellow of the Biophysical Society of the American Physical Society in 2010 in recognition of his seminal contributions to the field of biophysics, including the detection, identification, characterization, and quantification of biological and chemical polymers, as well as the development of a new method of determining protein structure The group has pioneered nanoscale pore-based detection, characterization, and quantification of single molecules, and is interested in further developing nanopore-based protein identification, elucidating the mechanisms of bacterial virulence, developing a new method for membrane Protein Structure Determination, and information storage and retrieval in molecules.
