Dr.JaspreetS. Dhupiais a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University ofAuckland (UoA),New Zealand since July 2015. Prior to joining UoA,he was an academic staff member in the School of Mechanical Engineering inNanyang Technological University, Singapore (2008-2015) and a Research Fellowat The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA (2007-2008). He received his M.S.and PhD from The University of Michigan and B.Techfrom Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has published over 100peer-reviewed articles in journals and conferences. He is Senior Member withIEEE, a Technical Editor for the ASME / IEEE Transactions of Mechatronics, andan Associate Editor with the ASME’s Dynamic Systems and Control Division. Hehas collaborated closely on funded research projects with US Food and DrugAdministration, US Department of Energy, ABB, oDocsEyecare,and Roll-Royce. He has held roles of a visiting professor to the University ofMichigan- Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Joint Institute and a visiting fellowof Peking University, and on-going international projects with US, China,Poland, and India.
讲座摘要
The seminar will present anoverview his research interests covering modelling, estimation, identification,and control applications in context of robotic and mechatronic systems. Thefirst part of the presentation will cover the recent contributions in modellingand control of a linkage chewing robot, the redundantly actuated parallelchewing robot, and a soft surface manipulator. The second part of thepresentation will introduce new monitoring and control algorithms developed bythem to handle the uncertainty and varying operating conditions encounteredcommonly in most industrial automation machines.
