The Equipment Intelligent Technology Research Center of Southeast University currently has 10 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors and 1 senior engineer. Its primary research areas encompass intelligent detection technology, performance enhancement technology, and health management technology. Intelligent detection technology includes advanced sensing and signal processing, data acquisition and analysis, machine vision inspection and measurement. Performance enhancement technology encompasses precision compensation, production scheduling, process quality control, and robot design and optimization. Health management technology involves fault diagnosis, life prediction, maintenance optimization, and inventory optimization.

Over the past five years, the Equipment Intelligent Technology Research Center has been engaged in fundamental theoretical research, key technological breakthroughs, and the transformation of research achievements in the fields of intelligent detection, performance enhancement, and health management for high-end CNC machine tools, robots, complex manufacturing systems, and complete equipment. It has undertaken and participated in a total of 28 national-level and provincial-level vertical projects, as well as 49 horizontal projects. Furthermore, the center has applied for 90 invention patents, published over 200 SCI/EI papers, and authored several academic monographs. The faculty members of the research center also hold academic positions, including roles such as Program Chair and Publicity Chair for the M2VIP International Conference, Executive Director of the China Creation Society, and Young Editorial Board Members for journals like Nanomaterials, Innovation, MMR and Unmanned system technology. The center has established fruitful collaborative relationships with renowned universities in the United States, New Zealand, Singapore, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other countries, facilitating mutual exchanges and learning. It has also formed productive industry-academia-research partnerships with leading enterprises in the field, such as Eston Robotics, Tongfu Microelectronics, and Nangao Gear. The center has received multiple technology awards, including the first prize for technological progress in the Jiangsu Province Machinery Industry, the third prize for technological progress in Jiangsu Province, and recognition as a high-level talent in the Six Talent Peaks program in Jiangsu Province.

 

Personnel Training

The research center is responsible for both theoretical and practical teaching of undergraduate courses in fields such as program design and algorithm language, electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, microcomputer principles and applications, mechanical engineering testing, and control technology. For graduate students, the center offers courses in intelligent manufacturing systems, reliability and equipment maintenance optimization, statistical quality control, manufacturing enterprise information technology, and embedded systems, among others. Additionally, the center provides guidance for over 50 master's and doctoral students in their basic research and engineering projects. It has established productive collaborative relationships with internationally renowned universities such as the University of Michigan, the University of Arizona, the University of Auckland in New Zealand, and the National University of Singapore.

Currently, the research center has graduated more than 20 doctoral students and over 100 master's students. These graduates have been involved in cutting-edge research on topics such as health management technology, process quality control technology, industrial big data, and artificial intelligence. Remarkably, over 85% of these graduates have taken on key roles in research and development or management positions in intelligent equipment-related enterprises, internet-related companies, and industry-leading unicorn companies, contributing significantly to the field.

 

Scientific Research

Main research direction 1: Intelligent detection technology

The focus is on tackling key foundational issues and critical core technologies in advanced sensing, machine learning, and machine vision. Research is conducted on advanced sensing preparation, mechanisms, methods, machine learning models and algorithms, as well as machine vision detection systems tailored for non-destructive identification. These efforts aim to address the bottlenecks in advancing intelligent detection technology related to advanced sensing, intelligent enhancement, and sustainable system technology.


Main research direction 2: Performance improvement technology

The main breakthroughs are focused on core technologies such as precision compensation, production scheduling, and process quality control to enhance the performance of complex manufacturing systems and complete equipment. Research is conducted on novel robotic systems and optimization design methods to advance key technologies in robot design, optimization, and control.


Three main research directions 3: Health management technology

The primary focus is on researching fault diagnosis, life prediction, maintenance optimization, and inventory optimization to achieve adaptive extraction and accurate recognition of different fault locations and types in industrial equipment under various operating conditions and large sample sizes.
